Stanford Professor Melissa Valentine studies how technology is changing work and organizations. Her work examines the evolving dynamics between AI/algorithms and organizational design. Through in-depth field studies, she explores how technology reshapes organizations, offering insights into the future of work in an increasingly digital and specialized world. Prof. Valentine is an Associate Professor in the Management Science Department at Stanford and a faculty affiliate at Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. She and collaborators have received best paper awards for research in both management and computer science conferences, and she was awarded the prestigious NSF CAREER award. Her work has been covered in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, Wired, Fast Company, and Financial Times. Prof. Valentine holds a bachelor's degree from Stanford University, a master's degree from NYU, and a Ph.D. from Harvard University.
